To advise clients in a range of regulatory defence matters, with a focus on the accountancy and built environment sector where advice would be given on compliance, regulatory investigations and the regulatory implications of securing external investment. The role also involves a knowledge and marketing element to keep abreast of developments in the regulatory world to include drafting marketing materials; knowledge management; and assisting with raising the profile of the team. |
Kingsley Napley acts for a number of regulated professionals and firms across a number of sectors. This role will involve providing advice to accountancy firms, regulated firms in the built environment or actuarial sector and individuals who seek advice in relation to regulation, regulatory and disciplinary proceedings and other inquiries of them by the FRC, ICAEW. ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, CIPFA, CIMA, RICS and the IFoA. This work includes defending clients in a disciplinary or regulatory context, advising firms on compliance matters including AML requirements, and advising on regulatory implications of external equity transactions on the buyer and seller side.
The role will involve:
- Client onboarding
- Detailed legal analysis
- Written and verbal advice to clients
- Corresponding with regulators
- Attending meetings with clients and others
- Preparing witness statements
- Instructing expert witnesses and Counsel
- Maintaining and further developing a knowledge bank
- Being responsible for horizon scanning and the drafting of marketing literature and LinkedIn content
- Working closely with Partners to grow the reputation of the team and the firm.
- Supervision of Paralegals and junior solicitors
- Effective use of Case Management Systems
Other such duties as and when required. |
