The Head of Data will lead the data team, driving the development and implementation of the firm's data strategy while ensuring the operational data management solutions fit for purpose and providing business benefit. This pivotal role is dedicated to tackling both the current and future data challenges, propelling the firm towards a more data-centric culture. By collaborating closely with various departments and stakeholders, the Head of Data will support embedding data considerations into decision-making processes, including reporting, quality assurance, governance, and compliance. As KN embarks on a transformative journey to elevate its digital presence and enhance customer engagement through strategic data utilisation. The firm seeks a leader to guide our newly established data team and champion our data strategy. |
Strategy and Leadership
- In conjunction with the firms CIO and other key stakeholders develop and guide the firm’s data strategy, with a focus on building new data foundations and working with practice areas and business services teams to meet future needs.
- Based upon the firm’s strategic direction and data related needs, build a data team and direct this team to achieve our strategic goals.
- Create and implement an execution plan aligned with the data strategy, ensuring it supports business objectives.
- Oversee and where required lead data projects, as well as maintain and improve upon data operations and processes, ensuring data security and integrity.
- Continually develop and manage the firm’s data management solution, with the focus and aspiration of creating a single source of truth by consolidating data from various systems.
Data Analytics and Reporting
- Working across the firm to develop and improve the firm’s analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Create and then enhance upon a Data Target Operating Model, upholding best practice and standards for delivery methodologies.
- Lead on the implementation of data and analytics projects and programmes of work, being accountable for their alignment to the firm’s data strategy.
Data Innovation and Projects
- Provide thought leadership to leverage emerging Data Engineering, Data Science and AI, particularly to enhance decision-making and data platform capabilities.
- Working with various stakeholders from across the firm to create business cases for expanding the firm’s data capabilities and contribute to future data Engineering, Data Science and AI initiatives.
- Working with firm’s project management office (PMO) to ensure data related projects align to the firm’s strategy and will achieve expected outcomes.
- In conjunction with the relevant project managers, validate data related projects aligned with the firm’s project methodology including scope, deliverables, timelines, resources required, and project budgets.
Data Governance, Security and Confidentiality
- Working with key stakeholders from across the firm including the Information Security Committee to develop and implement best practices for data governance, security, and confidentiality.
- Design, implement and maintain data security measures to protect the firm’s confidential and sensitive information.
- Support the firm’s Data Protection Officers (DPO) with respect to UK GDPR compliance including data audits, the firm’s record of data processing activities, risk management of data processor relationships, international data transfers and Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Work with the firm’s business continuity team to ensure the firms data assets are aligned to the firms BCDR (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) plans.
- Work with the DPOs, Head of Information Security and the IT Training team to put in place comprehensive programme for firm users on best practice with respect to data accuracy, data security, as well as continually highlighting key use cases for how good data management can benefit the firm.
Engagement and Management
- Provide leadership, encouragement and development opportunities to the Data team; building and maintaining a culture of high performance/ high support and operational excellence
- Pro-actively performance manage the work load of the Data team; providing regular feedback and conducting regular performance check-ins
