Purpose of job

The Business Development and Marketing Manager will be responsible for implementing BD&M strategy across Dispute Resolution, Employment and Costs (although Dispute Resolution will take around 80% of the work). This role will also directly manage one Senior BD Executive to deliver support to those designated practices.

Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Planning, Budgeting & Reporting – create and implement practice BD&M plans, in line with KN strategy, using the firm wide planning approach. Implement, monitor, measure and report on activity to ensue ROI is in line with planned expectations
  • Directories and advertising – ensure practice area is represented in appropriate listings, rankings, directories etc. through earned and purchased channels, in order to build recognition in the marketplace
  • Content & Collateral – work with fee earners to produce a strategic series of articles, blogs, whitepapers, videos, credentials, brochures etc aligned to the strategic growth plans of each practice
  • Events & Sponsorships – aligned to strategic plans, create and manage a calendarised programme of events, on and offline, to assist practices in building and sustaining client relationships
  • Pitches & Presentations – lead on creation of client presentations and pitches, as well as responses to tender requests to assist practice in winning revenue
  • Key accounts – plan, monitor and report on activity, pipeline and revenue from key accounts
  • Management – train, develop, manage and ensure quality of delivery from Senior BD&M Executive as well as acting as a role model for other junior members of the BD&M team
  • Proactively develop effective working relationships with partners/ fee-earners across the firm providing them with professional BD&M advice, guidance and support
  • Maintain and appropriately share knowledge of best practice and industry experience
  • Assist the Business Development & Marketing Director in overseeing the operations of the BD team, ensuring that processes/ projects are efficient, effective and completed on time
  • Represent the BD&M team on key internal responsible business groups and committees such as the Diversity and Inclusion committee and appropriate sub-committees
  • Other such duties as and when required.
