Purpose of job

The Accounts Payable Cashier will join a team of 5 cashiers and will be accountable for the day to day operations of the Cashier team, with a strong focus on the office account, assisting with client transactions and ensuring strict adherence with the Solicitor Accounts Rules. 

Responsibilities

Specific duties include:          

  • Responsible for recording supplier invoices
  • Responsible for ensuring invoices have been approved by the responsible budget holder with the correct cost code
  • Maintaining an accurate log of the prepayment report
  • Processing staff expenses
  • Reconciling vendor statements and resolving discrepancies
  • Coordinating payment runs of supplier invoices once per week
  • Coordinating payment runs of staff expenses twice per week
  • Issuing supplier payments on demand
  • Monitoring office credit balances and advising the appropriate action
  • Provide cover for:
    • Posting office and client receipts
    • Ensuring CHAPS, BACS and cheque payments are administered in a timely and accurate manner
  • Contributing to cashiering projects and initiatives to streamline processes
  • To provide ad hoc support to the Cashier Manager as required with respect to cashiering matters
  • Monitoring the cashier’s mailbox throughout the day
  • Assiting with Audits
  • Ensuring all filing is completed on a daily basis
