Purpose of job

To provide a professional service to the fee-earners within the CNPI Practice Area. To keep fee earners up-to-date on legal developments and to support the development of their expertise by maintaining the department's knowledge database and precedents folder. To support the Department with marketing and business development, by producing and managing content for the website and assisting with Legal 500 and Chambers applications. Scope for the candidate to learn about our taskflow system and to assist the team with utilising this.

Responsibilities

To include:

Know How

  • Updating, maintaining and developing a full suite of CNPI litigation know-how including the precedent system (electronic and hard copy), checklists, letters, workflows and updates;
  • Monitoring practice and legal developments and ensuring that key information is passed on to fee earners in the group;
  • Contributing to the CNPI homepage on the intranet and being primarily responsible for the legal content of the team’s pages;
  • Updating, editing and maintaining the precedents directories for CNPI, to include those on the Taskflow.
  • Maintaining, editing and updating the databases for counsel and experts

Marketing

  • Producing content for the website and the team’s linkedIn and twitter pages, including blogs, tweets, case reports etc and assisting with research for articles to be published in journals and on the website;
  • Assisting fee earners with keeping their online profiles up to date;
  • Assisting with submissions for legal directories;

Scope to assist with Technology once trained up by our in-house IT specialists

  • To assist with training new joiners to the team in the use of the Taskflow system, and to work with the partners to ensure that there is a full take up.
  • To review the use of the Taskflow, and to maintain and update it on an on-going basis.
  • To liaise with James Havers, the Business Support Team and IT
  • To meet regularly with the IT Partner, and with the PAL to develop and maintain a training programme for the CNPI team in relation to these issues.
