The department

People & Culture (P&C) Team 

Purpose of job

You will provide essential guidance on approach for people operations, employee relations, graduate recruitment and general People services. You will be required to provide advice and build strong relationships with members of the Firm’s practice areas and business services teams. You will also support the P&C team with key projects, annual processes and ensure we are compliant and following best practice. 

Responsibilities

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

Processes & Projects

  • Support the P&C team with the running of projects in line with the team’s business objectives as and when required
  • To support the Firm’s submission for the annual engagement survey; collating data and reviewing the results once received
  • Support the Firm’s annual practising certificate renewals (SRA, Bar Council, CILEX; and Costs Lawyer Standards Board), and the Firm’s SRA and Companies House records
  • Propose and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and enhance employee experience
  • Respond to queries received in the P&C Service Desk ticketing system
  • Coordinate and ensure on-going compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Keep up to date with relevant employment law and knowledge share with the team where appropriate
  • Manage the life cycle for all partner hires and promotions to include offer letters and enclosures, review periods and leaver administration
  • Provide ad-hoc support and assistance to the Talent and Development team with the Firm’s performance management tool

 

 

Employee Relations

 

  • Provide guidance, support and advice to Firm members on matters of employment legislation, employee relations and other Firm policies
  • Lead on various P&C matters including; attendance, absence, flexible working, parental and other types of leave and escalating where appropriate
  • Support the relevant People Business Partner with employee relations issues by; assisting in investigations, drafting correspondence, dealing with queries and attending meetings where required
  • Carry out exit interviews and monitor key recruitment metrics (using Great with Talent), such as turnover and retention rates and update the People Business Partners with key themes for specific client groups

 

Data & Systems

 

  • Configuration and development of Dynamics 365 including improvement of core operational processes, automation, and reporting
  • Engaging with the P&C team to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications for Dynamics 365
  • Running regular data cleanses and reconciliations. Demonstrating an ongoing endeavour to ensure data integrity and transparency is achieved
  • Working with the P&C team to facilitate application configuration changes, workflows and enhancements in line with business needs to drive efficiencies
  • Being responsible for building, preparing and delivering a variety of management and people reports, analytics and dashboards utilising Power BI software
  • Reviewing and challenging current operational processes and information requirements to ensure optimum use is being made of the Firm’s existing system capabilities
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer amongst peers through proactive cross-functional communications and documentation
  • Assist with the analysis of Firm member trends, preparing management reports and providing insights where required

 

Payroll & Total Reward

 

  • Oversee the collation of monthly information and covering the commitment of the monthly payroll
  • Responding to employee queries relating to payroll, benefits and pensions
  • Support the team with coordinating the annual benefits renewal
  • Assist with the Firm’s annual salary and bonus review including collation of market data and benchmarking analysis
